The idea for the book, “Pocket Share Jesus: Be a Digital Witness for Christ,” started in 2009 when Wes was a doctoral student studying and working in Denton, Texas, as well as Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The book is an invitation to Christians to share Bible verses from God’s Holy Scripture, as well as stories about how God is real and active in our lives through the power of Jesus Christ and God’s Holy Spirit. “Pocket Share Jesus” features a variety of different media projects, products and formats which can be used to share the Good News of Jesus in our increasingly digital age of the early twenty-first century.
Wes’s Christian blog is “Pocket Share Jesus,” and more information about Wes’ beliefs and theology are available.
Wes loves teaching middle school media literacy and computer science in Charlotte, North Carolina, and has been an educator since 1996. His favorite question as a teacher is, “What do you want to CREATE today?” His favorite provocative educational observation is, “Video is the pencil of the 21st century!” Most weekends, Wes enjoys hiking and exploring the great outdoors with his family. As an avid backyard barbecue enthusiast, Wes’ smoker specialty is “Texas-style brisket.” He shares food photos, videos and recipes on his “@CookWithWes” Instagram channel. Wes is a 1992 graduate of the US Air Force Academy, a Fulbright Scholar, and earned his Ph.D. from Texas Tech University in 2011 in Curriculum and Instruction.
